Orrefors x JAY3LLE is a unique concept chessboard where every figurine and the 64 squares have been meticulously molded, cut, and polished by Orrefors’ leading craftsmen to assemble a masterpiece board game. An exquisite layered wooden case completes the presentation.
The exclusive chessboard marks the first launch from a partnership between Orrefors and Jay3lle, led by renowned fashion designer and entrepreneur Johan Lindeberg. Taking inspiration from Ingmar Bergman’s film The Seventh Seal and Orrefors’ own photographer John Selbing, this iconic board game sets the bar for a creative theme we call Scandinavian Noir: distinct and decorative, dark and dramatic.

Johan Lindeberg is a designer, photographer and general creative force, Swedish by birth but otherwise untethered by borders. Growing up in Lund, a small university town, Lindeberg witnessed the energy of student protests and an air of rebellion that has served as a source of inspiration throughout his long career. His constant creative output already constitutes an impressive list of feats. Besides masterminding Italian fashion phenomenon Diesel and working with the likes of William Rast and Absolut Vodka, he’s the founder of labels J.Lindeberg, Paris68 and BLK DNM. Jay3lle is his latest invention, a multidisciplinary design outfit spearheaded by Johan and his daughter, Blue Lindeberg.
